Ring riding on horseback

A traditional Zeeland sport is ring riding on horseback and with sjezen. Some competitions are held in white sports costume, others in traditional costume. Especially the contests in the sjees, where the horses and sjezen are lavishly decorated and several couples can be seen in costume, are a real must for lovers of sport and folklore. The season runs from early May to mid-September. There are then regular competitions in Zoutelande and other surrounding villages.
